Whether you and your dog would like to learn the basics or perfect your skills, there’s a group class to suit you.
Beginners’ Dog Training Courses
Using highly effective, reward based methods, we’ll learn a host of important techniques including recall, loose lead walking, settling in public, sit, stay, leave, socialisation, focus and manners around visitors. Check course content in the list below to find the right one for you.
Group sizes are kept small to make sure that this is a supportive environment where each pup and their owner is able to learn at their own pace. In addition to the training, we’ll cover lots of important skills that every dog owner should know including how to understand your dog’s body language.

The Six Week Beginners Course is The Dog Club’s longest beginners course so will give you and your dog the most in depth foundation training. We’ll cover ‘leave it’, recall, loose lead walking, settling in public, sit, stay, leave, socialisation, focus and manners around visitors. We’ll take a look at basic first aid, preventing puppy biting and deterring jumping up among many other useful topics.
Fridays @ 1.30 pm at The Cooper Recreation Room in Shenstone (WS14).

The Bitesized Puppy Course (Tuesday 29th April to 13th May at 6.15 pm in Lichfield)
This three week course covers essential training techniques that every puppy should know including focus, loose leading walking, sit, stay and settling in public. There will be plenty of expert advice during the course as well like how to socialise your puppy, how to discourage jumping up, coping with chewing, toilet training and sleep training.
For puppies up to seven months old.

The Stage Two Course
This four week course is specially designed for owners and their dogs who have done some basic training in the past, either with The Dog Club or elsewhere. Keep up the good work by building on your skills plus learning a host of new techniques and life skills. Dogs of any age are welcome!

Walking Club @ The Dog Club in Support of St Giles Hospice
Whittington, WS14
One Saturday morning each month, The Dog Club hosts group walks around the picturesque village of Whittington in Lichfield. Enjoy walking in the South Staffordshire countryside while you and your dog socialise with other dogs and their owners. During the walk, The Dog Club’s trainer Lisa will be on hand to offer advice and training tips.
After the walk, join us for a drink and a chat at The Bell country pub. We have a spacious, under cover area designated for our group in the rear garden so there’s plenty of room for everyone.
Cost includes group walk, a hot drink or soft drink and 25% donation to St Giles Hospice.

The Recall Masterclass

During two, one hour sessions, we’ll explore what truly motivates your dog to come back to you and teach you a repertoire of highly effective, proven recall techniques that you’ll use every day forever!
